LEAD COUNSELLOR **APPLY ON THE WEBSITE** HOURS PW.
To maintain the provision of quality services in FSN for the
individuals and families who access them. These services are based in
the Finglas area.
The job holder will have a lead role contributing to the overall
co-ordination and development of services, in line with the FSN
policies, procedures and values of the organisation.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Degree in Psychotherapy or a related field
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
* To be responsible for the operational management of counselling
provision.
* To provide leadership and motivation, conducive to good staff
relations and development
* To implement policies and procedures, in conjunction with the
Board of management
* To conduct assessments of incoming service users and assign them
to appropriate counsellors.
* To facilitate recruitment of volunteer counsellors by maintaining
contact with the appropriate third-level institutions
* To identify gaps in service provision and work with the Board of
Management to develop the service to meet these gaps, where
appropriate
* To participate when required in a crisis, support role for service
users.
* Provide management supervision to all counsellors.
* liaise with the board of management in relation to any issues
arising (performance of counsellor’s/ clinical caseload)
* Promote an ethos of best practice, professionalism, and
accountability with ongoing learning within the team.
* Work closely with the board of Management
* To manage counselling staff resources, ensuring that staff levels
and skills mix are appropriate.
* To identify the training and development requirements for
counselling staff
* To ensure that all relevant information on new counselling staff
is processed.
The role will also entail maintaining records, and providing written
reports when requested.
